Pool Therapy: Helping Those in Halifax with Joint & Spine Pain

If you enjoy a warm bath every once in a while, then you already understand a few components of pool therapy: muscle relaxation and pain relief. Aquatic therapy is useful in treating arthritis, joint pain, osteoporosis, and those who require low-impact exercise routines.

If you have arthritis, pool therapy allows you to exercise the joints, yet without the pain that normally follows land-based exercises. Because you are more buoyant in water, there is less compression within the joints.

Back Pain

For those with back injuries, the reduced gravity of pool therapy also helps to alleviate compaction of the spine. There are also exercises available to strengthen the muscles around the spine.
